A blank player does not always mean the game has been removed. Embedded games depend on your connection, browser and the external game provider. Try the checks below without installing unfamiliar software or weakening your browser security.
1. Wait for the correct player
Use the clearly labelled play control in the game area. An advertisement may have its own buttons; those are not the game controls. Give the player a moment to download its assets.
2. Check your connection
If other pages are also slow, check the connection first. Try one reload when the game is not running. Reloading can reset an active session.
3. Try a supported, up-to-date browser
Update your existing browser through its normal update process. Some older games may not work in every browser or orientation. Do not bypass a security warning, install a plug-in from a pop-up or disable protection simply to start a game.
4. Check whether only one game is affected
Open another game from the Winter collection. If that one loads, the first game’s provider or assets may be unavailable. Trying again later is safer than repeatedly refreshing or following a download advert.
5. What information helps diagnose a failure?
Note the game name, page URL, device, browser version and the visible error. Do not share passwords or personal account information. A screenshot of the player can help, provided it contains no personal information.
Will clearing browser data help?
It can remove saved game settings or progress. Do not start by clearing all browsing data. First try the simpler checks above, and only remove site data if you understand what may be lost.
